The Story

Meet Rocky — a cheeky little kangaroo on a mission to help kids aged 6–9 master the clock.

Rocky Roo Rocket Clock turns one of childhood's trickiest skills into something kids genuinely want to practise: an interactive clock they can spin and drag, quizzes that feel like play, and three games they earn their way into.

Rocky Roo Rocket Clock started the way the best products do: with a real problem at my own kitchen table. My son Rocky (Rocky-Roo to me) was working through his tell-the-time homework, and this was the perfect opportunity to finally fulfil his request that I make him his own app! (He'd been listening to me talk about KnoWHO and the other apps in development!) So I built him his own — with his name on it and something to actually teach him a fundamental skill.

It turns one of childhood's trickiest skills into something kids genuinely want to practise: an interactive clock they can spin and drag, quizzes that feel like play, and a Game Centre they earn their way into — Race the Clock, Colour by Numbers, and Clock Builder — all powered by a "hop" economy that rewards every correct answer.

Built differently, on purpose.

Rocky Roo Rocket Clock was also a deliberate experiment in how I build. The entire app was created through AI-assisted development — designed and iterated with Claude, built with Replit's AI agent, and shipped to the App Store through Xcode. No code written by hand. My role was product owner, designer, and quality bar: describing exactly what kids needed, reviewing every screen on real devices (and getting Rocky's live feedback during the process was super cool too!) and pushing back until all the details felt right.

Each app I ship this way sharpens the process. Rocky Roo used a different pipeline to my previous builds — new tooling, new workflows, same obsession with warm, human design. It's proof that with clear product thinking and taste, one founder can now take an idea from a kid's homework struggle to a live App Store product — no dev team required.

Every correct answer earns a hop. Collect 10 hops and the Game Centre unlocks — Race the Clock, Colour by Numbers, and Clock Builder.
